The power of Ashtanga Yoga
 
All of yogameg's classes are based on the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga. This style of yoga is characterized by a focus on vinyasa, or a dynamic connecting posture, that creates a flow between the more static traditional yoga postures.
 
Most of the postures practiced in Ashtanga yoga are exactly the same as the ones taught in other forms of yoga. The big difference is that they are performed in a formal sequence and before moving into any of these positions, the body is heated up with a series of dynamic movements designed in a very specific order.
 
The Ashtanga  method of Yoga involves synchronizing the breath with all the postures—a process which can produce intense internal heat and a purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The results are numerous but can include improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind.
